I heart Logitech

Aside

I’ve been using Logitech products ever since I started tinkering with computer 10+ years ago. I really tried to find a picture of this really crazy Logitech mouse I had back in the day…it was a mouse mounted on a post that was attached to a flat base. It was sort of like a joystick mouse or something and the mouse could slide around within this little square within the base. I searched the googles high and low and couldn’t find a pic :(

Today I called Logitech support because my little mouse was on the fritz and would occasionally decide to register single clicks as double clicks. They had me perform a couple simple troubleshooting steps, decided it was a hardware problem, and told me they’d go ahead and swap it out. I asked if they’d advance ship me a replacement since I use the darn thing nearly every day. To my surprise she says “we’ll send a new one out to you…don’t worry about returning the old one, just recycle it”. Now that’s good customer service. Not the first time either…I have a Dinovo Mini keyboard/mouse that seems to have developed interference problems with my wi-fi. I thought the unit was faulty and Logitech swapped it out for me, no problem.

Rebooting the ol’ blog

It’s been over a year since I’ve posted to my blog and so much has changed since then that I figured I might as well start over from scratch.  The old blog was pretty much just posts on software development…which isn’t always the funnest topic to write about.  This time around I’ve decided to post whatever nonsense I’m currently obsessed with.  Some of the topics currently floating around my mind:

  • Searching for an awesome music subscription service and why Mog and Spotify just don’t cut it.
  • Games you should check out on Xbox Live.
  • Movies worth watching on Netflix Watch Instantly.
  • How to use If This Then That (ifttt.com) to catch great deals on Craigslist and Amazon.
  • Specs on the gaming rig I plan to build when Guild Wars 2 comes out.
  • Replaced my Windows Media Center machine with a Boxee Box and I’m never looking back.

I’ve also started moving away from Flex development and begun working more with WPF and potentially Silverlight in the future.  There are lots of useful tidbits I’d like to share as I’m learning the ins and outs of .NET, so I’ll be putting together some posts on that subject soon.

Here’s to Josh’s blog round 2!
