The new Playbook OS is surely a good improvement. But, I would like RIM to develop a PC version of it's Video Chat apps, so it can be more socially useful, since Skype for Playbook is not available. This will be a very good plus to RIM's effort.
Lastly, to make Playbook a truly versatile tablet, I suggest that RIM make the Playbook's USB connector be able to host memory cards and other plug and play devices.
This hosting of external devices is the big plus of other android tablets like the Galaxy, Toshiba and Asus.
Thank you, and have a good day

Josh, great review, I think you hit all the good points. Also, I've been saying all along what you said about the PlayBook OS being better and more intuitive than iOS (especially) and Android (somewhat) for a tablet. iOS especially just seems like a waste on a nice piece of hardware like an iPad.

Fantastic record. After being a teenager in that era and having ridden the grunge wave, I would have to say that Alice in Chains is my fav band from that era. Soundgarden is right up there too.

Agreed, it was one of the better documentaries I've seen in a while. Being a die-hard Mother Love Bone fan, I was glad to see all the MLB footage in the film (much of which was new to me). I enjoyed it so much, I actually ordered the DVD and corresponding book as soon as the film was over. :)

Another site worth checking out is the movie social network and movie cataloging site - Filmbuffet.com. The site allows you to keep track of all the movies you've seen and add movies you'd like to see. Social networking aspects connect you with other movie fans and discover new films based on your taste in film. You can rate and review films, start movie discussions and create your own movie groups.

David,

Have you heard about NME?
http://www.haxenme.org/

This is the real beauty. We don't need anymore to struggle with JS weaknesses. We don't (really) need to learn O-C or Android java. We don't need adobe anymore. We have NME.

Macromedia did almost the same thing with Director in 1999 - hijacked Shockwave player to put a gaming platform (Shockwave.com) on an unsuspecting corporate customer base without even warning developers.

I wonder if Apache can get Flex to output an intermediate code like Haxe that can target native platform code compilers and escape the player limitations?

No surprise there. I've maintained throughout the flash turmoil that everything hinged on what Adobe planned to do with the runtimes. Everything else is ancillary and irrelevant if the runtimes are still controlled by a single, closed, governing body.

All the more reason to learn additional technologies and improve our value as developers.
